About Me

I’m a licensed clinical social worker specializing in a variety of evidence-based approaches in the treatment of mental health issues.

I graduated with my master’s degree of Social Work from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, in 2012. My focus was interpersonal practice and cognitive behavioral therapy.

I chose this profession because I have a genuine passion for working with people through the navigation of the human condition. Listening and being present with the emotions and experiences of others brings purpose and meaning to my life, while adding to my own values of openness, perspective, and gaining wisdom through what connects all humans. The trials of life — the shared experience of being alive and all of the beauty and hardship that life entails — are what make us human.

My Approach

I approach my work in a non-judgmental, compassionate, and collaborative manner, allowing for a safe space to navigate the therapeutic process that works best for you.

Utilizing a road map that identifies where you are on the “state of mind” spectrum:

Victim of…. ——————-————- Surviving ——————--———— Healing —————————- Thriving

Working together, we will identify where you are, in life or in specific situations, and develop realistic goals to help you transform to where you would like to be.

I use a symbolic compass worksheet to create a direction for each session. (ACT, DBT, CBT)

NE: THRIVING: Living in gratitude, abundance, and freedom

Self-Compassion

SE: CHANGE: behavioral activation, problem solving, finding balance

Growth

SW: HEALING: Allowing, feeling, growth through discomfort, transformation

Self-Validation

NW: ACCEPTANCE: letting go, forgiveness, clear vision of reality as it is

I work best with:

  • Adults 18+

  • Those who have BIG emotions and feel on a deep level. Emotional sensitivity.

  • Free spirited individuals struggling to “survive” a constricting/limiting environment.

  • Family members of those who are struggling with mental illness and/or addiction.

  • Individuals seeking guidance in finding their strength to navigate difficult life transitions.

  • Those who have difficulty asking for help, feeling like a burden, and/or are harsh on themselves.

  • Older adults seeking a safe, supportive space to share and reflect, while working through pains of the past and finding freedom in the here and now.

  • Teenagers (15+) in a GROUP setting.
